Potato avalanche

I go to the grocery store almost every week. It’s never very exciting, well except for that one time I witnessed the most dramatic shoplifting arrest ever while just trying to peacefully pick out my mother’s birthday card. I’m usually the one questioning people, but today I was the girl everyone stared at.
I was just minding my own business in the produce department. I got to the sweet potatoes and decided to pick a few up. Why not, they’re on sale today. Obviously you can’t just pick any potato, you have to find the best ones in the pile (small enough to cook all the way in the microwave, but big enough to make a meal out of it). Also very important is to add the fact that the potatoes at the store are set up on a slanted display. So here I am, picking through the potatoes. I found a couple good ones, and then under a couple small ones was another gem. I dug it out and next thing I know the ENTIRE display of potatoes starts to collapse. I ditched my potatoes and tried to stop the rest from hitting the ground, but it was 1 woman vs almost 40 potatoes. I lost the battle, which left me practically in the splits on the ground with 5 or so potatoes in my arms and 15+ on the ground. The couple rummaging through the bananas next to me were gawking at me like I was an exhibit at the zoo. Of course the didn’t help… Fuckers. There were a few other people close by but I didn’t bother looking to see their reactions. I’m sure I’m in somebody’s snapchat story or something. But before I became anyone else’s morning entertainment I threw the potatoes back on their perch and left the scene laughing.
Lesson learned: a potato is a damn potato, just pick one.

Does this make me a blogger?

My first blog post…. No idea what I’m doing or really how this thing is supposed to work. Should I introduce myself? Sure? Well I’m Andrea; if you’ve gotten this far then you probably are already aware of that…I hope. Currently I am studying some science stuff at Ohio State (go bucks) and running for the varsity cross country program. I’m starting, or at least attempting to start this little blog to get my name out there. Currently a google search on my name will bring you to the more famous broadway actress Andrea McArdle. We may both have red hair, but we aren’t the same person. I am the runner, not the actress, just for further clarification. The reason why I want MY name out in the world is because this past winter I got the bright idea to write a novel. Anyone who I’ve shared this fact with has told me to start blogging about it, so here I am. That’s not the only thing my posts will be about though, I have a lot more to bitch about than just writing. Speaking of bitching I’m just throwing out the warning that I’m almost always politically incorrect, offensive, and neither of those will probably change in the near future. I am who I am, take it or leave it. What I say may be a little harsher than it needs to be, but I’d like to think I have something intelligent to say, most of the time. With that, I’m going to conclude this first post. If anyone has bothered to read this, awesome, if not, well I’ll probably continue to blog to myself for a while.
